Minneapolis telehealth company recently launched a virtual pass to get patients “front-of-the-line access” to tests and results
Minneapolis-based telehealth company Zipnosis just launched a first-of-its-kind “virtual boarding pass” for patients and providers using its branded virtual healthcare platform. Dubbed ZipTicket™, it provides Zipnosis end-users — typically patients of Zipnosis’s provider clients — with “front-of-the-line access” to in-clinic lab diagnostic tests.
ZipTicket integrates with Zipnosis’s existing adaptive interview system, which arrives at preliminary diagnoses for more than 90 conditions through a question-and-answer app. Physicians review patients’ interview data remotely and provide further instructions — for instance, antibiotic prescriptions, clinic appointments for physical exams or ZipTickets for rapid lab tests. Patients with ZipTickets then bypass the appointment queue at participating clinics — and thus get their lab results faster than previously possible.

ZipTicket™ syncs with participating clinics’ electronic health records and patient portals, becoming an integral part of the normal workflow. Importantly, it’s available to existing and new patients — a potentially valuable customer pipeline for clinics and providers that accept new patients.
ZipTicket™’s release comes on the heels of a successful $17 million Series A funding round that drew investments from Arthur Ventures, Ascension Ventures and Fairview Health Services. Zipnosis has about 20 health systems on its geographically diverse client list, including big names like Minnesota’s own Fairview Health Services, California’s John Muir Health and the University of Alabama-Birmingham. And, since its 2010 founding, the company has grown its headcount nearly four-fold — from four to 30, and counting.
“Over the past seven years, [Zipnosis] developed the technology, trust, experience and playbook to help health care systems launch a best-in-class virtual care service in 60 days or less,” says Pearce. Sounds like it doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.
