Flying Dutchman Gin and Vodka Recognized by American Distilling Institute
Flying Dutchman Spirits won silver medals for two of its products in the American Distilling Institute (ADI) 2018 Judging of Craft Spirits competition. The world’s largest competition dedicated to craft spirits, which annually attracts more than a thousand entries, recognized Flying Dutchman for its Mediterraneo Gin and its Nas-Drov-Via Vodka.
Flying Dutchman, which opened last April, crafts artisan spirits inspired from flavors around the world.
“As a true ‘grain-to-glass’ producer, we strive to bring international flavors home to Minnesota through craft spirits with high quality and consistency,” says Scott Kaldenberg, oprichter (founder) at Flying Dutchman. “We are very proud to be recognized by ADI in our first year with two of our products.”
Flying Dutchman’s gin is a take on the London Dry style – one that features Mediterranean flavors that complement the overall taste profile. Its vodka uses local potatoes descended from Peru and corn from Minnesota to create a smooth and inspired international beverage.
“Our small batch production pays homage to the traditions of the original spirit, but with a twist,” Kaldenberg says.
Flying Dutchman is located at 6801 Flying Cloud Drive in Eden Prairie. The tasting room opens at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Their products are also available at Twin Cities wine and spirits retailers.
