A 15-year-old IT consulting and custom software development company based in Winona is expanding its operations to a second base of operations in the Twin Cities.

“We’ve had a soft opening as we are getting our suite of offices set up,” says Ben Adank, 39, president and CEO of Itechra.

“We have been onboarding many new clients in the metro, so it makes sense to have a local presence here now,” he adds. “We see a tremendous amount of opportunity for growth in the tech sector.”

The company, which works with small to midsize businesses, has a team of 15 in Winona; Adank anticipates the new Roseville  office will employ seven IT consultants and business development managers by the end of 2017.

Itechra offers managed IT service, customized software development, project work, network engineering and tech support. Leveraging enterprise technology, the company also assists clients in moving from on-site data centers to the cloud.

“Our target is a company whose business is large enough to need IT but they don't need to hire an internal IT department,” Adank explains. “We can provide the service that aligns with their business goals.”

Itechra was founded in 2001 by Adank’s father Roger, a former network consultant. Originally a one-man company, the business got its start in the family’s remodeled two car garage, where Ben Adank and his dad hung the sheet rock to construct the office.

As the company grew, it moved into an office a few blocks from the Mississippi River in the southeastern Minnesota River town where Ben became president and CEO and Roger remained in the role of founder.

“We’re a startup and that early bootstrapping gives us an appreciation for what our clients are doing,” says Ben.

Itechra’s new location is 2355 Highway 36W, Suite #405, Roseville, MN 55113.
