Dale Kurschner’s background includes founding and leading Profits Journal, a private‑equity and venture‑capital research and content distributor considered an early version of PitchBook; forming and leading a corporate communications team for OptumHealth; heading internal communications across 24 countries for Lawson Software; and serving as a planning commissioner and elected city council member in Excelsior, Minnesota from 2017 to 2022. He also has an extensive background in award‑winning investigative‑style financial journalism. He has worked for Dow Jones, Reuters, BusinessWeek, Corporate Report Minnesota, Corporate Report Wisconsin, the Wausau Daily Herald, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, the Milwaukee Business Journal, Business Ethics Magazine and most recently served as Editor in Chief of Twin Cities Business from 2010–2018.
Early content on this site was under the name of MNPerspectives.com and originated from Dale’s weekly, live business discussions with John Hines on WCCO-AM radio and weekly business discussions with Cory Hepola on KARE‑11 TV. After John’s retirement and Cory’s move to another organization, the segments ended and content expanded in 2020 with the launch of One Take CEO Interviews, a series exploring how Minnesota CEOs led through the COVID‑19 pandemic and recession. Due to a family health issue, activity on the site paused in mid‑2022. That same year, Kurschner LLC acquired the assets of Minnesota Business from its previous owner, Tiger Oak Media.
