Duluth, Minn.-based Superior Fuel Company is expanding its regional footprint with the acquisition of Hayward Propane, a long‑established provider serving northwest Wisconsin. The move brings together two companies known for reliability and community‑focused service, while adding operational depth to Superior Fuel’s growing network.
Hayward Propane, founded by Todd Siddons and Jenni Strama, has operated as a lean, service‑driven business with a small team and a loyal customer base. Superior Fuel, headquartered in Duluth and employing roughly 30 people across Minnesota and Wisconsin, has been steadily scaling its operations through technology investments, transparent pricing programs, and selective acquisitions. The company now operates 25 bulk plants and seven regional offices, giving it one of the larger propane footprints in the region for a company of its size.
Siddons will remain with the business and help lead growth in the Hayward market—an arrangement that preserves local knowledge while giving customers access to broader resources, expanded delivery capacity, and long‑term operational stability.
For Superior Fuel, the acquisition reinforces a strategy built on pairing regional scale with local service. For Hayward Propane customers, the company says the transition will be seamless, with familiar faces supported by a larger team and more robust infrastructure.
